SAPSRI, in 2015, diversified its lending to the non-agricultural sectors, such as, dairy farming, export activities, services and manufacturing. Accordingly, SAPSRI identified Pubudu Milk Producers’ Organization in Doraweruwa in Hiriyala in the Kurunegala District with a membership of 25 members as beneficiaries under the SMED credit line for dairy farming. On 4th September, 2015, Mr Cyril Wijesooriya Field Coordinator, with the guidance of SAPSRI Head Office, organized an event with the participation of officials of SANASA Insurance Company, Department of Livestock Development and the Veterinary Physician of Polpithigama Veterinary Department who delivered valuable lectures in order to enhance the knowledge of the members of Pubudu Milk Producers’ Organization in dairy farming and to make it more profitable. At this occasion, they were provided with milk cows to the value of Rs. 2,330,000/- .
