CRIWMP – Puttalm District Project Orientation Program

Climate Resilient Integrated Water Management Project (CRIWMP) Puttalm District Project Orientation Program held successfully on 02 April 2018 with the participation of 65 District Level Government Officials, Organized by the South Asia Partnership Sri Lanka (SAPSRI) and the Project Management Unit (PMU)


The purpose of the workshop was to educate and increase the awareness of the project in Puttlam District key Government Officials. Program was chaired by the Puttlam District Sectary. CRIWMP, Deputy Project Director, Chief Technical Advisor, PMU and SAPSRI staff participated for this program.

District highlighted the significates of the CRIWMP in Puttalam District. Moreover, he ensured his support towards the successfulness of the project implementation. Chief Technical Advisor, UNDP explained paradigm shift of the project by elaborating the Conceptual Framework of the project. Dr. P.B Darmasena, Consultant, Food and Agriculture Organization explained importance of reviving the ancient tank cascade system, tank ecosystem, its restoration and conservation. Technical aspects on tank rehabilitation, safe drinking water, climate smart agriculture and weather forecasting were presented respectively by the Technical Experts of PMU
