This beautifully renovated ancestral home situated in 6 acres of land is the perfect place to meet, learn, work and collaborate. Two halls and ‘mada midula’ (courtyard) with an open veranda provide a versatile training space, with plenty of room for workshops, lectures and small-group activities. Should you want to expand your activities, the whole property and grounds are available. Overhead projectors and computers can be hired.

Meals, snacks and drinks

Food is simple, healthy and made with fresh ingredients. We can provide local rice and curry meals, made in a traditional style in a claypot, or simple western-style food. Fresh fruit, such as mango, rambutan, pawpaw and bananas, are provided. Special dietary requirements can be catered for, but please let us know about these in advance.

Accommodation

The house has overnight accommodation for 22 people. There are two rooms with six singles beds n each and five rooms with bunk beds.  Clean linen is provided and changed regularly. Toilets and baths, in both Western and local style, are located both inside and outside the centre.

Surrounding environment

The property is a renovated ancestral home, built over 100 years ago. It is based on 6 acres of land. It’s a rich environment, with flowers, birds, animals and traditional village trees. An impressive rock stone borders the rear of the building, while paddy fields and the famous Warana Rock provide the surrounding view. Other places of interest nearby include Gampaha Gardens, Horagolla Bandaranaike Samadhiya monuments and the Pinnawala Elephant orphanage

How to get here

The centre is situated on the Warana Road, 3 km from the Kandy-Colombo highway. There are four connecting roads to the Kandy-Colombo highway: from Yakkala, Kalagedihena, Aluthgama and Thihariya. The centre is only 30 km (45 minute drive) away from the Colombo International Airport.
